John Cunningham is a talented Singer/Guitarist who comes from Dublin but now lives in County Kildare. His musical career began during the ballad boom in the early seventies when he began playing around the various venues in Dublin. After a break from music, he returned and concentrated on traditional music and has toured Europe, the United States and Australia where he performed at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in front of an audience of 55,000. He has over the years, accompanied nearly all of the greats in Irish Traditional music. His involvement with Jim McKillop began in 1992 during the All Ireland Fleadh in Clonmel. They were staying in the same accommodation and immediately struck up an instant rapport. He has accompanied Jim since then in various Fleadhs, Festivals and concerts around Ireland.
Aidan Cunningham is a talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who played lead guitar and steel guitar and toured extensively with Larry Cunningham, Margo and Philomena Begley in the 1970’s and 80’s. More recently, he has played with Mick Flavin, and toured at home and abroad with Brendan Boyer, Sandy Kelly, Mary Duff, George Hamilton IV and Jim McKillop. In recent years, Aidan has renewed his love for Irish Traditional music through his daughter Kira, who is an All Ireland Piano Accordion player. Both father and daughter joined Jim McKillop and John Cunningham (no relation) on the streets of Clonmel Co. Tipperary during the wonderful weekends of music at the All-Ireland Fleadhs of 2003 and 2004. In the present McKillop line-up, Aidan plays mainly piano and steel guitar in support of the multi-style repertoire of Jim McKillop.
